One of the joys of being a chef is sharing your knowledge and passion with other food lovers, whether they’re amateurs or aspiring chefs.
We run a wide range of courses, from cooking the perfect steak to baking the perfect sourdough. And we host one-off demonstrations, wine tastings, seasonal celebrations and private events in our cookery school kitchen, throughout the year.
Our cookery school kitchen also serves as the backdrop for our kitchen table private lunches or dinners – perfect for intimate business dinners, team-building exercises, birthdays, anniversaries or other personal milestones.
From cooking the perfect steak to baking the perfect loaf, anyone can learn to be a better chef in our cookery school – even if they don’t know the first thing about cooking.
All our courses are run by Peter Eaton, or one of our other senior chefs. They have all been with us for years, and each has an encyclopaedic knowledge of food. They are also experienced teachers, who know how to put people at ease.
As in our restaurant, we use seasonal, local or homegrown produce wherever we can. In fact, our cookery school overlooks our vegetable garden, where you might even pick your own ingredients.
We keep our class sizes small, to give everyone plenty of one-on-one time and hands-on advice. We do all of the prep work in advance, so you’re free to focus on the cooking. We’ll give you course notes and recipes to take home with you, but we also encourage you to ask questions and make your own notes. Above all, we hope you’ll leave feeling energised, with a headful of ideas and a sense of achievement.
Our cookery school is also available for private hire for your own events, for business or pleasure.
Whether you’re looking for a fun group activity to share with your friends and family, or a team-building day with your colleagues, our cookery school offers something a little less ordinary.
We can host groups of up to sixteen for either cooking or eating. The beauty of our cookery school is that it fits the bill for so many different kinds of events and occasions. As well as private lunches and dinners and cookery courses, we’ve hosted everything from cocktail masterclasses, to foraging days, to film shoots in the past. The possibilities are endless.

Our Kitchen Table experiences give you a rare opportunity to watch a world-class chef in action, as they cook for you in the heart of our cookery school kitchen – the ideal setting for an intimate business dinner, or any special occasion.
As they cook for you, just a few feet from your table, you can chat to them about ingredients, provenance and cooking techniques.
