The Woodspeen — Woodspeen

Our story

It was 2013 when The Woodspeen began its transformation from a run-down country pub into a beautiful, contemporary restaurant and cocktail bar.

Designed with a picture window to take full advantage of the breathtaking views over the West Berkshire countryside, and an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs at work.

We’ve since gained a number of accolades for both our food and wine list.

Elegant, understated and seasonal, The Woodspeen quickly became a highly regarded spot for business lunches and intimate dinners – located within a short distance of the A34 and junction 13 of the M4 between Bath and Reading, and easily accessible from Oxford, Hungerford, Swindon and Basingstoke.

We have a clear vision; to provide exceptional dishes, using the best ingredients the season offers, warm and attentive service, carefully chosen wines and cocktails for your enjoyment.

Within a stone’s throw of the restaurant is our state-of-the-art cookery school , housed in a beautifully converted barn, overlooking our own vegetable garden.

The Woodspeen Cookery School hosts a variety of cookery courses and experiences.

The Woodspeen is a very special place, designed for casual dining and special occasions alike, and occupying a distinct place at the heart of the local community.
